Ireta Smith Fitzsimmons, age 85, departed this life on October 4, 2018. She was born April 3, 1933, at Cushman, Arkansas, to Flora and Mattie Wink Smith, the fifth daughter in a family of eight daughters. She was a 1950 graduate of Cushman High School. She was a charter member of the Quail Valley Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Ray Fitzsimmons, and three sisters, Dorothy Clouse, Margie McDoniel and Geneva Melton. She is survived by one son, Douglas Fitzsimmons of Bethesda; one daughter Karen (Fred) Goller of New Albany, Indiana; one granddaughter, Taryn Goller; two grandsons, Shane Fitzsimmons and Tanner Goller; one great granddaughter, Emma Pollard; four sisters, Altha Phillips, Helen Ruminer, Linda Wilson, all of Batesville, and Gail Morgan of Rosie; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Visitation will be Sun. Oct. 7, 2018 5-7 p.m. at Willis Funeral Service. Funeral Service will be Mon. Oct. 8, 2018 10 a.m. at Quail Valley Free Will Baptist Church of Batesville, Ar. with Bro. Dale Kester officiating. Interment New Hope Cemetery Bethesda, Ar.
