Helen (Page) Criswell, 88, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. She was born on August 27, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois. Helen made her home in the Mountain View area for more than 40 years, where she became known for her strong spirit, warm personality, and unmistakable sass.
Helen worked as a machine operator for many years. She was a faithful Baptist and attended Mt. Joy Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed watching preaching on television, fishing, and spending hours treasure hunting at thrift stores and Goodwill. Helen loved to talk and share stories with those around her, and in her younger days she proudly embraced her adventurous side as a biker chick. She carried a little spark everywhere she went and was known for her lively personality and quick wit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Criswell; all of her children; and both of her parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mount Joy Cemetery. A graveside service will follow immediately at 2:00 PM at Mount Joy Cemetery with Truman Bullard officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lonnie Baker, Steve Criswell, Brenda Begner, Hank Criswell, Jeff Criswell, Henry Criswell, and Carl Odum. Honorary pallbearers will be Janet Baker and Margie Roach.
Helen will be remembered for her strong spirit, her love for the simple joys of life, and the way she could light up a conversation with her personality. Though she has gone on to her eternal rest, the memories of her laughter, her stories, and her sassy charm will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts.
