Helen M. Herndon Brooks, passed from this life, July 12, 2016 at her home in Hiawassee, Georgia with her son and daughter in-law holding her hand. Helen was a member of the Church of Christ. She was the daughter of Lucian and Maurine Jarrett Herndon of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Millard Brooks and a daughter Linda Evonne Brooks. She is survived by her son, Dr. Mark A. Brooks and daughter-in-law Shirlene of Atlanta, Georgia. One sister, Frances Herndon Estes, of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas. Nieces and Nephews, Chris Estes of McCrory Arkansas, David Estes of wife Renea of Heber Springs, Arkansas, James Estes and wife, Margo of Acworth, Georgia and Julie Estes Johnson with husband Phillips of Sidney, Arkansas.
