Harvey Dalton Philips, 91, of Salado, AR, died September 20, 2026. He was born January 4, 1935, in Emhouse, TX, to Clyde and Rebecca McDonald Philips. He attended school in Van Alstyne, TX until he joined the Air Force in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart, Julia Smoot, and they had four children. 

He is survived by his wife, Julia, of 71 years; son, Chip Philips (Rita) of Jamestown, AR; daughter, Jean Anne Martin (Jimmy) of Gosnell, AR; grandsons, Christopher Martin (Angel) of Gosnell, AR, Jarred Martin (Anna) of Jonesboro, AR, Wiley Philips (Savannah) of Southside, AR; granddaughter, Maigen Philips of Southside, AR; great-granddaughters, Isabelle, Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Virginia;  great-grandson, Luey; brother, David Philips (Vickie) of Melissa, TX; and many nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jim and Joel Philips; brothers, R. J. Philips (Pat); Jiggs Philips (Loy); sisters, LaHoma Whitaker (Jr.), Clydene Hill (Billy Joe); nieces, Andrew Wilkins and Magela Martinez; and nephew, Jackie Whitaker.

Harvey spent 26 years in the Air Force and retired in Salado, AR, where he made many good friends.

He will be cremated, and the family will have a Graveside Service on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 2 PM at Egner Cemetery in Salado, AR.
