Glenda Lee Hyslip, 89, of Batesville passed away November 6, 2015. She was born in Ash Flat, Arkansas on May 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Lola Olivia Horton. She is survived by her son Ted Hyslip and his wife Kathy; a daughter, Denice Ruggeri and her husband Steve; two granddaughters, Bekah Hyslip and Betsy Tanner and her husband Blaine; three nieces, Welma Waldrip, Glenda Horton, and Ella Van Thompson; a nephew Johnny Horton, and a sister-in-law Reta Flinn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lester Hyslip. Glenda was a graduate of Ash Flat High School and attended Harding College. She was a devoted wife to Lester as well as a caring and wise mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved to spend time with her family and travel. Especially to watch the St. Louis Cardinals or to spend several months of the year in Texas. Glenda was a faithful Christian who attended the Harrison Street Church of Christ for many years and worked with the congregation in various capacities. Her compassion, graceful manner and wisdom will be missed by her family and her many friends. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery at 10:00 AM Monday November 9, 2015. A visitation for the family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the Harrison Street Church of Christ in the fellowship building.
