Georgia Faye Hollowell Claxton, lovingly known by her family and friends as Georgie, 81, of Cushman, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on March 1, 2026.

Georgia was born on February 22, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas, to the late Warren Alvis Hollowell and Maggie Ella Hollowell. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1963. During her school years, Georgia was voted Miss Mount Pleasant, Most Beautiful, Most Athletic, and Best All-Around by her peers.

Georgia loved the sport of basketball and proudly served as captain of her team. Her enthusiasm for the game led her to encourage her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to participate as well. When her health allowed, she traveled to watch them play. She cheered them on faithfully but was also known to lovingly remind them to “toughen up.”

Georgia worked many years at White-Rodgers until her retirement. She deeply enjoyed her crew and especially loved dressing up to celebrate each holiday with them.

Georgia was a devoted woman of faith who loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of Cushman Assembly of God. Nothing made her prouder than knowing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren had attended church, joined, and been saved.

Georgia leaves behind to cherish her memory of kindness and grace her devoted husband of 59 years, Jimmy Claxton of Cushman, Arkansas; her son, Rodney Claxton of Cushman, Arkansas; her daughter, Holly Claxton Watts (Caleb) of Cushman, Arkansas; her sister, Kathleen Mason (Kenny) of Southside, Arkansas; her daughter-in-law, Julie Claxton of Savannah, Georgia; and her sisters-in-law, Billie Hollowell of Mt. Pleasant, AR and Judy Hollowell of Peculiar, Missouri.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nathan Claxton (Becca) of Searcy, Arkansas; Weston Watts of Cushman, Arkansas; Isaac Watts of Cushman, Arkansas; and Ella Claxton of Houston, Texas; and her two great-grandchildren, Harper and Hayes Claxton of Searcy, Arkansas. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Georgia was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Claxton of Savannah, Georgia; her sisters, Veda Holland, Mildred Skelton, M.E. Skelton, Dean Clark, and Ernestine Doucet; her brothers, Robert Warren “R.W.” Hollowell and Wayne Hollowell; five nephews, Jerry Holland, Gene Skelton, Gary Don Skelton, Ricky Hollowell, and Matt Anderson; and one great-niece, Stephanie Kilpatrick.

Georgia was an advocate of organ donation. She was a recipient of a kidney transplant that allowed her to live an additional 25 years and experience many treasured milestones in life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider becoming an organ donor to provide a life-saving opportunity for others.

A Homegoing service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cushman Assembly of God in Cushman, Arkansas, officiated by Brother Carl Blankenship. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1 p. m., also at the church.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Claxton, Caleb Watts, Weston Watts, Isaac Watts, Rodney Claxton, and Terry Clark.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Claxton, Kenny Mason, Roy Allen Skelton, Keith Skelton, and Lee Claxton.

Special appreciation to the nurses that took care of mom: Both Becca Whitten and Judy Sokoloski cared for her like she was their own Grandmother.
