Gene "Butch" McCollum, 77, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Batesville, AR. He was born on July 14, 1947, in Frenchman's Bayou to the late Albert Allen McCollum and Virginia Marie (Bennett) McCollum. Butch enjoyed reading, playing his guitar, and listening to music. He also liked to drink sweet tea, sit on his porch, and watch the traffic go by.

Butch is survived by his brother, Mark McCollum (Jessica); nieces, Paige McCollum (Mario Gruben), Rileigh McCollum, and Jenna McCollum; cousins, Carol Sandefur (Jerry), Gary Melton, and Vickie McCallum; and a host of other cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a visitation held at Willis Funeral Service Chapel on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5 PM until 7 PM. The graveside service will be Friday, August 2, 2024, at Louise Chapel Cemetery in Joiner, AR beginning at 10 AM. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Stacy Wright, Warren Ballard, Brandon Taylor, Gene Bennett, Gary Melton, and Matthew Melton.
