Obituary

Saved as a Christian as a young man and baptized June 26, 2020. He was married for 52 years to Sharon Laxton. He was a devoted husband and a loving and caring father and grandfather.

He retired from Entergy Independence Steam Electric Station of Newark in 2009.

With calloused and hardened hands, he thoroughly enjoyed working his vegetable garden giving the fruits of his labor to family, friends, and anyone else who would accept. He took great pride in his lawn care. He was an avid fisherman and relished his time spent with his river family and members of Lost Hollow Hunting Club. Not as much hunting, but a lot of cooking and socializing. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and hosting many holidays and special occasions, always making sure there was plenty to eat.

His favorite time of year was fall and winter because he got to spend time with his buddy, Larry Milligan, his grandson Bo and his son-in-law Neil making sausage and deer snacks by the hundreds. We all know it was not the preparation of snacks that was important, but it was the time spent with those he cared about so much.

Most of all Gary cherished his family and friends, and would lend a helping hand to anyone that needed assistance. He would say, "we are all family."

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Halli Taylor and sister, Darlene Taylor Dowell (Earl) of Batesville. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Taylor; son, Travis Taylor (Sara) of North Carolina; daughters, Rachelle Hambrick (Neil) of Batesville, and Twila Taylor of Batesville; brother, Wesley Taylor (Rhonda) of Batesville; brother-in-law, James Borque (Ella) of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren, Bo Reynolds (Mackenzie), Haley Giorgini (Tyler), Natalie Hambrick "Sunshine," Corey Branstetter (Garth), Kaylin Dacus, Hannah Taylor, Allison Taylor, Maycee Taylor, and Owen Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ty Reynolds, Lane Reynolds, Will Reynolds, and Carson Branstetter; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Gary's family sincerely thanks:

His dear neighbor friends, Larry and Glenda Milligan, for their continued companionship and uplifting attitude.

His dear neighbor and friends, Gary and Kim Hardin, for their good food and spiritual assistance. Arkansas Hospice staff for providing physical and spiritual assistance.
