Gary Lynn Smart, 59, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Batesville. He was born August 2, 1955 in Batesville to Harold Smart and Agness Rounds Smart. He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing with his grand babies, and talking about cars. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Rudick Smart of Batesville; one son, Delbert "Goose"Patterson of Mtn. View; two daughters, Heather Smart of Cave City and Tiffany Smart of Batesville; two brothers, Harold Smart of Evening Shade and Danny Smart of Spring Mill; two sisters, Peggy Holland of Batesville and Connie Harris of Batesville; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Osborne Cemetery with Brandon Smart officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are: Tony Simon, J.D. Smart, Wayne Smart, Travis Swaim, Ty Swaim, Ronnie Lee, Dr. Muhammad Khan, Dr. Ron Bates, and Dr. Douglas Bernard.
