Obituary

Floyd Thomas "Tom" Collins, age 80 , of Salem, Arkansas, passed away July 3, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospice in Little Rock, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on September 13, 1944, in Ward, Arkansas, to the late Arthur Bryant Collins and Mary A. (Tucker) Collins.  He was a longtime lumber salesman and spent much of his career with Marling Lumber Company of Janesville, WI, where he was respected for his dedication and deep knowledge of the trade.

Tom was a man of deep Christian faith and lived his life guided by the example of Jesus through love, service, and integrity.  He was a longtime member of Roxbury Church of Christ in Janesville, Wisconsin, where he worshipped and served faithfully for many years.

A talented woodworker and musician, Tom had a passion for bluegrass and gospel music.  He played guitar in the band Rock River Revival with his church friends and generously used his building skills in remodeling his own home as well as helping others.  He found joy in helping friends, fixing something for a neighbor, or playing music with friends.  Tom brought joy and warmth wherever he went.

He was known for his kind heart, great sense of humor and a welcoming hug.  He deeply loved his family, and loved spending time with his daughters, their husbands, and all the grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rosemary (Moss) Collins, his parents, and his 6 siblings.

Tom is survived by his wife of 2 1/2 years, Sue Miller; his three daughters, Winona (J.D.) McCall, Mary Beth (Jon) Grice, and Andrea (Jim) Smith; 11 grandchildren - Justin, Dustin, Colton, Cameron, Ross, Zac, Katelyn, Ben, Josh, Katie and Christy - and 24 great-grandchildren.

Tom touched many lives with his warmth, generosity and laughter.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will hold a private burial service to honor Tom's life and memory.
