Florine (Flo) Gabel passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 97. Flo was born on March 13, 1926, in Lewiston, Maine to Leo and Laura (Despres ) Cormier. She was born one of eight children.

Flo was eager to explore. She married a US Marine, Robert E. Robling, who died in the Korean Conflict. They had a daughter, Donna Lee Collins. Flo then married a US Army Air Corps officer and traveled to Africa and the Philippines. She lived in San Antonio, Texas until moving to Batesville, Arkansas to care for her youngest son, Timothy.

Flo is preceded in death by her husband's Robert E. Robling and George D. Gabel CMSGT, RET.; sons, Patrick James Gabel and Timothy John Gabel; and granddaughter, Sara Michelle Gabel. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lee Collins; son, Michael Steven Gabel (Cindy); grandchildren, Tiffany Jill Glover (Jackie), Casey Alexander Gabel (Diana); and great-grandchildren, Cayden Glover, Easton Glover (Morgan), Savannah Glover, and Payton Glover; brother, Bobby Cormier (Jaylene); sister, Shirley DeGrasse (Sheldon); and sister-in-law, Ellie Cormier. The Gabel family would like to thank the devoted friends who cared for Flo: Father Jon Miskin, Barbara Moreno, the Eucharistic Ministers from St. Mary's Catholic Church, and her shopping companion, Cheyenne.

A memorial mass to celebrate Flo's life will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 3800 Harrison St., Batesville, Arkansas, on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with the recitation of the Rosary starting at 9:30 a.m. Father John Miskin will be officiating. Interment will be held at Memphis National Cemetery at a later date. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
