Donald James Hyatt, Sr., 86, of Batesville passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in Batesville. He was born June 13, 1928 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Milton Hyatt and Mamie Marshall Hyatt. Donald served in the Navy, loved building things and enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Donald James Hyatt, Jr. of Batesville; one daughter, Linda James of Batesville; one sister, LaVerne Ruff of Holland, Michigan; five grandchildren, Kelly Robertson, Jennifer Hyatt, David Keene, Tina Jones and Duane Grice and five great-grandchildren, Mandy Robertson, Matt Robertson, Katie Keller, Eden Christian and Cash Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty one years, Agnes Hyatt; one sister, Shirley Pond and two brothers, Richard Hyatt and Lester Hyatt. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M., Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with John High officiating. There will be a private burial at a later date. Visitation is 11:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2015.
