David Homer
Wadley
May 12, 1953 – June 4, 2026
David Homer Wadley, 73, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, with his beloved wife by his side.
Born on May 12, 1953, in Casa Grande, AZ. David spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver, traveling countless miles across the country alongside the love of his life, Charlotte. Together they collected stories from highways, truck stops, and faraway places. Those who knew David best knew that some of his favorite memories came from his days on the road, and he never lacked a good story to tell. He was well known on the road as “Seymour”, a nickname given to him by fellow truckers because he had a talent for spotting more along the side of the road than anyone else.
While his work carried him across the nation, his greatest journey was the life he built with his beloved wife of nearly 51 years. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories, challenges, laughter, adventures, and unwavering commitment. Along the way, they were blessed with two sons who brought them great pride and joy. Through every season of life, they remained devoted to one another, creating a family and countless tall tales that will continue to be shared for years to come.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Wadley; his sons, William Wadley (Heather) and James Wadley (Victoria); his grandchildren, Melanie Wadley, Rowan Wadley, and Trent Szachnitowski; his great-grandson, Wesley; his four beloved grandcats; and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Allene Wadley, his father, Earnest Wadley, and his brother, John White.
Those who knew David will remember his stories, his experiences, and the life he lived on his own terms. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family would like to thank all those who have offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
