Cathy Mae Cissell King, 66, passed away on July 25, 2023, in Batesville, AR. She was born on September 23, 1956, to John Fitz Cissell and Mary Arlene Cissell. Mrs. Cathy was a teacher for thirty years. She loved education and a good book. She also enjoyed nature and was a devout Christian. Above all else, she loved her family and friends more than anything.

Cathy is survived by her sister, Rachel Cissell Barnes; son, Jeremy Johnson (Kristy); daughter, Cheryl Johnson Bell; grandchildren, Brooklyn Brinkley (Jared Harris), Trenton Bell, Garrett Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Colton Johnson, and Samantha Johnson; great-grandchildren, Slade Harris and Stetson Harris; nieces, Amanda Hughes Russell (Paul), and Lisa Young; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, John Fitz Cissell; mother, Arlene Cissell; sisters, Becky Cissell Hunt and Janie Thurman; brother, Greg Cissell; grandparents, Iva Mae Derrick and Willie Ben Derrick; son-in-law, Perry Bell; niece, Jennifer Kaye Cissell; and nephew, Brad Hughes.

There will be a private Celebration of Life for the family on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Heber Springs. A Graveside service for friends and family will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to the Independence County Humane Society in honor of Mrs. King. Floral arrangements and plants can be sent to Willis Funeral Service.
