Carolyn "Sissy" Rust Thomas, 78, of Batesville passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in Batesville. She was born October 1, 1935 in Batesville to H.W. "Colonel" Rust and Paralee Rice Rust. She worked at Kroger, was a member of the Central Ave. United Methodist Church, where she was active with United Methodist Women and she volunteered at Southside Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Taft Thomas; two brothers, H.W. "Rusty" Rust II and Dale Rust. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, A.T. Thomas of Batesville; one son, Scott Thomas of Batesville; two daughters, Diane McDougal of Batesville and Jenny Loos and her husband John of Dallas, TX and one brother, Tom Rust of Gainesville, FL Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Egner Cemetery in Salado with Paul Seay officiating.
