IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn
Silas
February 22, 1949 – July 5, 2024
Carolyn Sue (Butler) Silas departed this life on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born February 22, 1949, in Batesville, AR, to the late Preston and Sarah Butler; she was of Christian faith.
Carolyn worked for many years as a CNA at Woodlawn Nursing Home. She worked hard to provide for her five children. After her retirement, she loved going shopping, watching movies, going out to eat, spending time with her family, and sitting on the porch visiting with her neighbors. While Carolyn was going through her cancer treatment, she loved the time she got to spend with her daughters on trips to the hospital that always ended with a good meal, lots of laughs, and time to catch up. Her great-granddaughter, Aspen, gave her great joy.
Carolyn was preceded in death by both of her parents; her sister, Reba Anderson; and her grandparents.
She is survived by three sons, Sammy Dale Silas and his wife, Jamie, of Melbourne, Larry Dean Silas of Sulphur Rock, and Kevin Caraway, of Batesville; two daughters, Tammy Silas, and Karen Bentley, and her husband, Marshall, of Batesville; her brothers, Sammy Butler (Teresa), Norman Butler (Donna), and Johnny Butler, all of Batesville; nine grandchildren, Whitney Sanchez, Alex Davis, Charity Silas, LJ Silas, Remington Silas, Spencer Caraway, Ashton Garner, Roxanne Bentley, and Scarlett Bentley; and six great-grandchildren, Bryson Sanchez, Kade Holman, Pearl Silas, Kimber Silas, Aspen Garner, and Camilla Caraway.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. There will be a graveside service on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10 am, at Campground Cemetery in Bethesda. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Dale Silas, Larry Silas, Kevin Caraway, Robert Sanchez, Kelly Davis, and Marshall Bentley.
