Carolyn Ruth Griffis, 69, of Southside left this world Monday, September 8, 2014 in Southside. She was born October 16, 1944 in Batesville to Earl Griffis and Hazel Head Griffis. She retired from Owens-Illinois and was a member of the Southside Missionary Baptist Church. Carolyn enjoyed reading and her family. She was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews, Paul Griffis and Lyn Bunting. Survivors include two brothers, Jay Griffis and his wife, Regeina, of Southside and Ronnie Griffis and his wife, Magaly of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Jeanie Bunting and her husband, Benny, of Dardanelle and Cheryl Lusk and her husband, Doug, of Salado and a host of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Southside Missionary Baptist Church with Ross Sturch officiating. Interment will be in the Egner Cemetery at Salado. Pallbearers are Shon Griffis, Shane Griffis, Daniel Lusk, Bryan Bunting, Brad Lusk and Davy Bunting.
