Carmen Dawn (DiPierro) Tharp, 61, of Batesville, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Carmen was born on April 29, 1963, in Mount Holly, NJ. She was of the Christian faith. Carmen worked for over 26 years as a shoulder cutter for Townsend (Peco) for over 26 years before becoming lead debone for a short time. She enjoyed music, helping others, and taking care of animals. She made a lot of friends during her travels across the American West and rescued 4 shelter dogs by adopting them. She wanted one day to return to New Jersey and visit the ocean. She was a devoted worker who always gave 110% even when she was injured. She used to love fishing and growing different kinds of plants. Carmen could speak several languages, including Latin and French. She also loved crafts, such as knitting, sewing, and solving puzzles. She kept fighting until the end, even beating breast cancer.
Carmen is preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Bernard; her uncle, Paul Fleschner; her father-in-law, Amos O. Tharp; her stepfather-in-law, A.W. Clark; her mother-in-law, Allene Clark; her grandfather-in-law, Alpha Omega Tharp; and her brother-in-law, JD Holt. She is survived by her loving husband, Amos Tharp, of the home; her daughter, Krystal Tharp of Batesville; her sister-in-law, Angela Holt of Batesville; her half-sister-in-law, Carolyn Clark of Batesville; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service. There will be a private burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman.
