Calvin Edward Bowie, 85, of Batesville passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 in Batesville. He was born February 16, 1928 in Dennison, TX to George Bowie and Halla Payne Bowie. Calvin served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean war. He was a two term past commander of the local American Legion. He worked as a buyer, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, was a member of the Purchasing Agents Association and an excellent provider for his family. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patricia Bowie of the home; one son, Kevin Bowie and his wife Vaughanda of Batesville; one daughter, Kimberly MacIntyre and her husband Paul of Houston, TX; one sister, Georgette Andrews and her husband Jack of Merritt Island, FL; two grandsons, Patrick Bowie and Sean Bowie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gordon Bowie and his niece, Sherry Ziegler. There will be a memorial service 11:00 A.M.
