IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy David
Hoskins
September 4, 1938 – December 28, 2021
Billy David Hoskins went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2021. He was born in Santa Rosa, California on September 4th, 1938 to Amasa and Leona Hoskins. Bill was married for 63 years to the love of his life, Wilma.
Bill and Wilma lived in many places due to his 21 years of service in the United States Navy, from which he retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in 1977. After his naval retirement Bill and Wilma moved their family to Batesville, Arkansas where he began a second 20 year long career working for Arkansas Eastman Company. Bill also had wide and varied interests as a volunteer and severed in many leadership positions, including in the Bethesda volunteer fire department, Independence County library, and the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council.
When Bill was just a young boy, a neighbor family started taking him to church. He soon became a Christian and remained deeply committed to Christ all his life. Over the years he was an active member of several different Assembly of God churches, serving in various roles such as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and leader in the Royal Rangers boy's program. Bill's faith continues to impact his descendants after him, and we are all grateful for his faithful life.
Bill loved and enjoyed the family he and Wilma created together. Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his son David Hoskins and wife Rhonda of Seattle WA, son Daniel Hoskins and wife Linda of Jacksonville AR, and daughter Debbie Davis and husband John of North Little Rock AR. Bill has 6 grandchildren; Megan, Rachel, Jessica, Aliyah, Caleb, and Janelle, and 4 great-grandchildren; Abigail, Brooklyn, Tobeus, and Nathaniel. Bill is also survived by 4 siblings; Maggie Bennington, Gene Hoskins, Joyce Payne, Karen Waller, and Paul Wayne Hoskins.
The Hoskins family would like to thank the staff at Lakewood Health and Rehab in North Little Rock for their kind and compassionate care of dad during his final days here on this earth. They were amazing.
