Billy Allen Herring, 79, passed away on September 27, 2021. He was born January 13, 1942, in Walnut Grove, Arkansas to Warren Herring and Mildred (Hensley) Herring.

Billy was an avid fisherman, hunter, and farmer. The only time you would not find him fishing is if there was bad weather. On Sunday mornings after church, he would bring his sons Keith and Mike with him to fish. Before they could even finish their Sunday lunch, he would be ready to go.  Billy was also a wonderful gardener and had a large garden. During the summer, when he wasn't fishing, he could be found gathering vegetables from his garden and shearing corn on the front porch with his sons. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by those that loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Herring and Mike Herring (Leah); and granddaughters, Kitiara Herring, Adison Herring, and Harley Herring. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Herring; parents; and brother, Ray Herring.

A visitation will be held at Cord Baptist Church on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. The funeral service, officiated by Jeff Childers, will follow visitation, starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
