Obituary

Betty Rae West passed from this life Friday October 9th, 2015. She was born January 13th, 1941 the daughter of Felix and Stella (Dale) Tate. She was a member of the Swaim Chapel Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of her passing she was a homemaker after retiring from GenCorp with 19 years of service. She was an excellent cook, known for her chicken and dumplings. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Alan West, three sons: Robert Vickery of Stockton, CA, Philip Vickery of Cave City, AR, and Randy Vickery of Batesville, AR, also three brothers and one sister, Kenneth Tate of Melbourne, AR, Dean Tate of Batesville AR, Eddie Tate of Cushman AR, and sister Veda Martin also of Cushman AR, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nephews, and nieces: Debbie Anderson of Jamestown AR, and great-niece Trina Shetron of Cave City AR, and others too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: T.J. Tate and Eulice Tate, both of Batesville, AR, three sisters: Willie Winkle of Newark, AR, Helen Crafton of Southside, AR, and Novie Dempster of Cushman, AR. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8pm at Willis Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2pm Tuesday October 13th at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hall and Jim West officiating.
