Betty Jane (King) Dowell, 69, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, at her home. She was born on September 28, 1951, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Elizabeth (Honeycutt) and Charles Hampton King. Betty lived most of her life in Calico rock/Norfork area. She graduated in May of 1969 from Norfork High School. After graduation, she married Danny Wayne Dowell in Batesville, Arkansas. On February 9, 1970, their son Shawn was born, officially making their home in Batesville. Betty worked in health care for over 30 years. She loved her family and her dog Jenny. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, and helping others. Betty is survived by one sister, Linda Strate of Holden Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Danny Dowell; son, Shawn Dowell; three sisters, Esther Harden, Sue Warner, Lois Fisher; four brothers, Lewis, Howard, Billy, and Jackson King; as well as her parents, Charles and Elizabeth King.
