Barry Wayne Butler, 68, of Batesville passed away January 15, 2016 at the White River Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1947 to Grover Eugene Butler and Rutha Almeda (Ledford) Butler. He was of the non-denominational faith. He loved antique cars, he was an excellent woodcraftsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he helped start the first AA group in Batesville, he was always willing to help those in need as a good Samaritan, his motto for living was to leave everything better than he found it, he was known by his CB handle Wooden Indian.
He was preceded in death by his parents Grover Eugene Butler and Rutha Almeda (Ledford) Butler; his grandparents Eugene Berry Butler and Lina Elizabeth (Harmon) Butler and Fred Ledford and Ora (Cross) Ledford; his brother Freddie Eugene Butler; his daughter Paula Mechelle Ward Carson
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Mary Marie Butler, a grandson Caleb Ward Carson of the home, and son Barry Wayne Butler II of Little Rock, AR; one daughter Dana Dauzat and her husband Gary; five grandchildren: Jeremy Graham, Courtney Graham, Morgan Tibbett, Noah Rabalais, and Corey Dauzat; one great-grandchild Kage Sanchez; one sister Diane Hill and her husband Tommy; one niece Amy Melton and her husband Jeff, one nephew Rodney Broyles; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be Monday January 18th from 5 PM- 7 PM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 10 AM Tuesday January 19th at the Methodist Campgroud Church in Bethesda with Gary Dauzat and Steve Gunther officiating. Interment will follow in the Campgroud Cemetery in Bethesda, AR.
Pallbearers will be: Caleb Ward Carson, Greyson Wyatt, Tylan Richmond, Dakota Smith, Clay Greenfield, Corey Dauzat
