Barbara Jean May, 77, passed away on February 26, 2023. She was born on April 29, 1945, in Batesville, AR, to Hugh and Helen Inman.

Barbara was a member of the Central Avenue United Methodist Church, Extension Homemakers Club, and also involved in the Independence County Fair. She loved playing piano and taught piano lessons at Pleasant Plains School for many years. In her free time, she loved sewing and painting. But most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those that loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Inman and Helen (Gist) Inman; loving husband, George May; and brother, Vernon "Farmer" Inman. She is survived by her son, Tony May (Zelda) of Batesville, AR; daughters, Toi Young (David) of Batesville, AR and Teresa Breckenridge (Dennis) of Paragould, AR; grandchildren, Lael Breckenridge, Heather Moore (Josh), Josh Breckenridge (Kim), Jared May (Jackie), Kayla Moss (Riley), Jordan Young, and Landon May; and great-grandchildren, Kylie, Lilly, Bentley, Tucker, Grayson, and Hattie.

A visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Burl Young, will be held the next day at Willis Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Egner Cemetery.
