Anetta Elizabeth Horton, 90, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 2, 1934, to the late Raleigh Horton and Thelma Payne, Anetta lived a life filled with faith, service, and a love for learning.

A dedicated educator, Anetta spent her career teaching with passion and purpose, touching the lives of countless children. Her mission extended beyond the classroom as she found joy in ministering to shut-ins, offering them comfort and companionship through her unwavering devotion to her faith. A lifelong Methodist, she embodied kindness, grace, and a steadfast commitment to serving others.

Anetta had a creative spirit, often sketching the world around her with a keen and thoughtful eye. She also found solace in the quiet rhythm of fishing, embracing the simple joys of nature.

Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication to others will be cherished by all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her impact will live on in the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Raleigh Horton and Thelma Payne.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jay R. Jeffrey (Diane) of Batesville Arkansas, her daughter; Jodie Jeffrey of Mt. Home Arkansas, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her sister, Nelta Freeman of Paducah, Kentucky.

Anetta will be deeply missed, her impact will live on in the lives she touched.
