Alvin (B.B) Lee Mathews, 64 passed away February 1, 2016. He was born May 3, 1951 to John Henry Mathews Jr. and Lavon (Hartzog) Mathews. He was a deacon at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree mason of the masonic lodge #248 and at the county line lodge. He was also a member of the Scottish Rights. He was preceded in death by his parents Lavon and John Henry Mathews Jr., his brother John Raymond Mathews, and his granddaughter Emily Lou Howard. He is survived by his wife Ervie Lou Mathews, his son Gene Mathews and his wife Rachael, three daughters: Melissa Miller, Teri McGinnis and her husband Lee, and Linda Francis and her husband Kevin, a brother Perry Mathews and his wife Jackie, a sister Ella Jergens and her husband Phil, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Pallbearers will be: Dustin Williamson, Cody Williamson, Lee McGinnis, Harold Gene Mathews, Kurtis Platt, and Adam Liles. Honorary Pallbearers include: Masonic Lodge Brothers and New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church family. Visitation is 6 PM-8 PM Thursday February 4th at Willis Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is Friday February 5th at 10 AM in the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Benson officiating. Interment will follow at the Shamrock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations and food can be brought to New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
