Alan Woody Thompson, 44, of Southside passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Batesville. He was born May 7, 1970 in Batesville to Woody M. Thompson and Frances Allen Thompson. He worked in sales and carpentry. Alan loved fishing with his son, baseball and was an avid Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his parents of Southside; his son, Preston Andrew Thompson of Batesville; his sister, Tracie Thompson Skidmore and her husband Tony of Floral; his niece, Raigan Skidmore McCarty and her husband Tra of Siloam Springs and his nephew, Garrett Cade Skidmore of Floral.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Abram F. and Clovia Vickers Allen and William M. and Ima Jean Hughes Thompson; two aunts, Clara Etta Ring and Beatrice Jean Thompson and his cousin, Tina Gail Simmons.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Interment will be at the Egner Cemetery in Salado. Pallbearers are Eddie Simmons, Nathan Simmons, Quincy Simmons, Greg Altom, Tyson Franks and Gene Cook. Honorary Pallbearers are Skip Hynes, James Smith, Howard Langston, Eddie House, T.W. Halford, Jerry Killian and Gordon Harmon.
Visitation is 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Monday, August 11, 2014.
