Twyla Eileen Thompson, 68, of Locust Grove passed away, Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Locust Grove. She was born May 4, 1947 in Keosauqua, IA to Harold William Rysdam and Frances Rickert Rysdam. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grand children. She enjoyed quilting, watching Lifetime TV and Criminal Minds.
Survivors include four daughters; Tammy Thompson, Leona Rose, Patty Leatherman and Rochelle Rickard, all of Concord; four step-sons, David Thompson of Davenport, IA, Kenneth Thompson, Jr., of Concord, Jeffrey Thompson, of North English, IA and Brian Thompson of Concord; and four brothers, Bill Rysdam of Burlington, WI, Leon Rysdam, Sr. of Locust Grove, Dennis Rysdam of Batesville and David Rysdam of Ottumwa, IA; twelve grandchildren, Anna Richardson of Durant, IA, John Higgs of Batesville, D.J. Wood of Salado, Mary Thompson, Michael Leatherman and Sheri Allender, all of Concord, Mandi Thompson of San Antonio, TX, Krystal Martin and Jenny Lawrence, both of Southside, Randy Allender of Drasco, Emy Thompson and Seth Thompson, both of North English, IA; and nine great-grandchildren, William Richardson and Jocelyn Richardson, both of Durant, IA, Alex Higgs, Abbi Higgs, Braxtin Higgs, and Noah Higgs, all of Batesville, Jace Reynolds of Salado, and McKayla Martin and Layton Witt, both of Southside.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Thompson, Sr.; one brother, Ronald Rysdam; and one sister, Ila Miller.
Services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Kendall Weaver officiating. Interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery in Locust Grove. Pallbearers are Chris Seat, Dwight McDonald, Allen Higgs, Adam Meaux,Charles Wine, and Nynal Neal. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Clark, Kevin Clark and Tony Rysdam.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 21, 2015.
