Shirley Mae Snell

Shirley Mae Snell, 79, of Batesville passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Batesville. She was born June 27, 1935 in Flint, MI to Fred Allen and Marie LaChance Allen. She was a preschool director and at the age of 55, went back to school and became a nurse where she was named student of the year. Shirley dedicated her life to her family loving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She attended Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church and is most remembered as someone who put all before herself. Shirley is a proud member of The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. She enjoyed reading and watching Dancing With The Stars.

Survivors include her three daughters; Jamie Smallwood of Batesville, Tracy Schwarz of New Braunsfels, TX, and Andrea Singleton of McMinnville, OR; one brother, Eddie Allen of Flint, MI; five grandchildren, Candena Fuller, Stephanie Rosas, Christopher Dickie, Josh Gamel, and Jennifer Dickie; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Rosas, BreKalyn Gamel, Adelynn Dickie, and Hadley Fuller.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Michelle Smallwood; her first husband, James Smallwood; five sisters, Deloris Good, Jean Bedard, Dorothy Allen, Mary Sims, Ann Spohn; and three brothers, James Spohn, Robert Allen, and Richard Allen.

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Willis Funeral Service in Batesville. Interment will be in the Barnes Cemetery. Pallbearers are Josh Gamel, Christopher Dickie, Paulina Rosas, Dennis Fuller, Steve Singleton, and Justin Withrow..

Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. til service time Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
