Marilyn Poore Obituary

Marilyn Lois Poore, 69, of Batesville passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 in Memphis, TN. She was born January 5, 1946 in Glendale, AZ to Eber Morgan and Florence Arrington Morgan. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, scrap booking and life in general. Marilyn loved her CNA work.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Poore of Collinsville, IL; her two sons, Danny Gates and his wife, Stacie, of Batesville and Chad Gates and his wife, Shelia, of Sulphur Rock; three step-daughters, Melissa Smacker of Collinsville, IL, Amanda Malvin of Troy, IL, and Shannon Willtrout of Bellville, IL; two sisters, Evelyn Brown, who is her twin sister, of Sulphur Rock and Ann Coats of AZ; ten grandchildren, Charles Boyett and his wife, Summer, of Oil Trough, Josh Gates and his wife, Tonya, of Sulphur Rock, Amber Burton and her husband, Brian, of White House, TN, Nina Brokaw and her husband, Mac, of Batesville, Chad Gates, Jr. and his wife ,Jordan, of Batesville, Stanley Gates of Batesville, Spencer Gates and his wife, Kayla, of Batesville, Jake Penn of Batesville, Samuel Gates of Batesville and Abby Gates of Batesville; three step-grandchildren, Lynn, Mathew and Emily; sixteen great grandchildren, Baily Skelton and Carson Boyett of Oil Trough, Ethan Ring, Lilly Ring, and Rhiley Burton of White House, TN, Conner Suttle, Mason Gates, and Ciara Stoveall of Sulphur Rock, Brandon Brokaw, Bryce Brokaw, Cody Dehart and Emma Brokaw of Batesville, Nora Claire Gates of Batesville, Chaysten May, Morgan Gates, and Alton Gates of Batesville; one aunt, Chris Tomlinson of AZ; her nieces and nephews, Sandy Farrell of AZ, Troy Danforth of NY, and Christine Brown of Batesville; two great nephews, Wesley Scribner and his wife, Amanda, of Batesville and Brett Scribner of Batesville; and one great-great nephew, Brayden Scribner of Batesville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Tammy Gates; two sisters, Wilma Smith and Faye Morgan; and one daughter in law, Lilly Gates.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Andy Scribner officiating. There will be a private family burial at a later date.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
