Leo Tucker, 78, of Batesville passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 in Little Rock. He was born June 17, 1936 in Bellville, Kansas to Leo H. Tucker and Gwendolyn V. DeWolf Tucker. He was a diesel mechanic and served as a Petty Officer, 3rd Class, from June 1955 to May 1959, in the U.S. Coast Guard. Leo built and drove race cars for 50 years and was inducted into the BCRA Hall of Fame in 2013. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathryn Louise Tucker of the home; his son, Randal Lee Tucker and his wife, Diane, of Batesville; his two daughters, Sharon Kay Tucker Bury and her husband, Mike, of Eugene, OR; and Janice Lynn Tucker Harper and her husband, Ken, of Newark; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Hopewell Cemetery in Cord with Rian Puckett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith-Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3895 Harrison St., Batesville, AR 72501.
