Irene Sorrels Obituary
Irene Brigance Sorrels, 89 of Sulphur Rock passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 in Batesville. She was born January 14, 1924 in Cartersville, OK to James Henry Brigance and Esther Taylor Brigance. She had worked in manufacturing and was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, S.J. Sorrels; three brothers, Herbert Brigance, J.C. Brigance, Lloyd Brigance; one infant sister; one son-in- law, Jerry Cooper.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Jean Leggett and her husband, James R. of Batesville and Sharon Kay Cooper of Batesville; one brother-in-law, Gerald H. Sorrels of White Pine, TN; one sister-in-law, Lois Brigance of Harrisonville, MO; nine grandchildren, Sherri Mason and her husband, Paul, Kimberly Iams and her husband, Justin, Jeffery Metcalf and his wife, Tammy, Clayton Stuart Cooper and his wife, Bethany, Leah Elizabeth Cooper, Joel Evan Cooper, Jenny Leggett Harn and her husband, Mac, Russell Leggett, and Larisa Jeppson and her husband, Bryan; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 15, 2013 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Womack and Bro. Charles Crowson. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in the Trotter Family Cemetery near Booth, AR with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation is Monday, July 15, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rehobeth Baptist Church
