Ernestine Stubbs, 88, passed away September 4th, 2017. She was born February 14th, 1929 in Prim, Arkansas. She was a charter member of Woodrow Baptist Church. She was active in all church activities and taught a Sunday School class for many years. She enjoyed gardening and working on the family farm. She retired from Skil Corporation of Heber Springs. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning, singing, and playing dominos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ila (Hipp) Carlton; her husband Loyd Stubbs; her son, Tim Stubbs; her son-in-law Douglas Pitts; and four brothers, Haskel Carlton, Vernon Carlton, Alvin Carlton, and John Carlton.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Pitts of Batesville and Everly Kellar of Coal Hill; three brothers, Austin Carlton, Jerry Carlton, and Tony Carlton four grandchildren, Kenny Pitts and his wife Lisa of Melbourne, Anthony Pitts and his wife Jennifer of Batesville, Abbie Smith and her husband Robert of Coal Hill, and Angela McMahan and her husband Tracy of Batesville; ten great-grandchildren, Matt Pitts, Andrew Pitts, Emery Pitts, Ellis Pitts, Michael Smith, Crystal Holley, Sidney Smith, Jubal Smith, Parker McMahan, and Ethan McMahan; nine great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6th from 6-8 PM and the funeral service will be Thursday, September 7th at 10 AM both at the Woodrow Baptist Church of Woodrow, Arkansas with Bro. John Stoner and Bro. Ron Bray officiating. Burial will follow at the Lancaster-Verser Cemetery of Woodrow.
Pallbearers include, Joe West, Boyd Carlton, Jamie Hipp, Zac Cothren, Mark Duncan, and Kevin Carlton.
Honorary Pallbearers include, Eddy Hipp, Rick Cothren, Tom Hipp, Bart Carlton, Billy Charles Hipp, and Jason Carlton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Ernestine to Woodrow Baptist Church.
