Delvia Fieldon McBride, 91, of Salado died Wednesday, December 6th, 2017. He was born in the Goodie Creek Community on February 13th, 1926 to Forrest and Virginia McBride.
Delvia was a retired Army Airforce World War II Veteran that served in the Pacific. A retired stone mason and county road crew employee. He was an avid hunter and gardener, and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Margret McBride of 63 years; two sons, both of Salado, Robert Carl McBride and Donna, and Stephen Anthony McBride and Teresa; two grandchildren, Robin Michelle McBride and Christal Lynn Reyes; five great grandchildren, Robert Cordell McBride, Ana Marie Lopez, Chance Seth Lopez, Carlos Josiah Reyes, and London Elizabeth Reyes; extended family grandchildren, Samantha Guadalupe Reyes, and Samuel David Reyes; a sister, Gertrue Moser and a brother, Johnny McBride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, Allison Lorianne and Karen Kristine McBride; a sister, Furby Lutner; and three brothers, Oran McBride, Archie McBride, and Avner McBride.
Visitation will be Friday, December 8th from 6-8 PM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 9th at 2 PM at the Salado Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery.
Pallbearers include, Chance Lopez, Lonnie Ray Young, Donnie Branscum, Dennis McBride, Berry McBride, Larry McBride, Lupe Reyes, and Carlos Reyes.
Honorary Pallbearers include, Buddy McBride, Jerry Lee McBride, Jody Davis, Matt MaGee, Roy Morgan, Gerald Cupler, Roy Young, Glen Luther, Dr. Richard VanGrouw, Dr. Greg Neaville, and Dr. Hunter Brown.
