William Fredrick Grady, 80, of Batesville passed away Monday, September 9, 2019. Bill (or BillyFred) as he was known by his family and friends, was born May 20, 1939, in Palestine, TX to the late Winfred Forrest and Josephine Elizabeth (Holland) Grady. Bill developed a passion for education and he sought to turn that passion into a career by attending both Harding University in Searcy, AR and later earning his Doctorate at the University of Arkansas. Bill taught and served on staff at several different universities across the country including LSU, Temple, University of Colorado, and University of Arkansas. Bill was a teacher and a school administrator. He also traveled the world in hopes of promoting good health and education to all those who wanted it. It was while Bill was at Harding that he met his wife to be, Sharon. Sharon and Bill shared a passion for education and for each other that developed into 58 wonderful years of marriage. One of Bill’s favorite things to do was listen to Sharon play the guitar and sing. Bill loved to fish, shoot, and ride horses, but most of all Bill loved the Lord, his family, his friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them. His basic philosophy was love God and love one another.
Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents and his aunt, Mae Beede. Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Grady, his son, Guy Grady, his daughter, Christi (Falmy) Grady Marin, 3 brothers: Jim Grady, John Grady, and Dan (Cathie) Grady, 3 grandchildren, Erin Grady, Dalton Marin, and Mikenna Marin, and a host of friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR.
