Sheldon Keith Thorne

Sheldon Keith Thorne of Locust Grove, AR. died on July 15, 2019   He was born on August 31, 1954 in Batesville, AR. to Norman and Evelyn Thorne. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman loving the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He loved riding his four-wheeler and sitting on his porch and solving world problems. He loved spending time with his daughter, sons and grand children. He was one of the first people to receive the Certified Fire Protection Specialist  (CFPS) and was a guest Instructor at LSU. He was certified for COSHO (Teex) in General Industry and Construction. Also he attended classes for Rail Hazmat in Louisiana and Fire Instructor 1 at LSU. And he also was one of the first EMT's in Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Matthew Thorne, grandparents Vennie and Lizzie Thorne and Jesse and Bessie Hayden and a nephew Keith Thorne.

He is survived by his wife Sissy Thorne, his daughter Sharla Huskey of Locust Grove, AR , two step sons Jared Cook and special friend Elizabeth Taylor of Southside, AR. and Jason (Sara) Cook of Benton, AR., his nephew Zachery Sutherland, one sister Teresa Sutherland of Locust Grove, AR., brother-in-law Greg Bostian, sister-in-law Deena Bostian, His grandson Kaleb Huskey, and 5 step grandchildren:   J.D. Wells, Rhys Cook, Darrien Cook, Conner Cook, and Ashton Gibbs.

Funeral Service will be Saturday July 20th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12 PM until 2 PM, both at Willis Funeral Service in Batesville, AR. .  Burial will be at Locust Grove cemetery of Locust Grove, AR. Willis Funeral Service  of Batesville in charge of the arrangements.
