Roberta “Bobbie” Marie Bray, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday night, October 14, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. Bobbie was born September 20, 1936, in Houlton, Maine, to the late Robert Lake and Gert (Sawyer) Lake. Bobbie was a member at Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was the owner of Bray’s Grocery Store at Mt. Pleasant and co-owner of Batesville Livestock Auction for 13 years. She loved crossword puzzles and reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lucius Bray, her daughter, Deanna Tharp, and her sister, Gloria Guth. She is survived by her son, Barry Bray and his wife Lynn, son-in-law Freddy Tharp and wife Crystal, one brother, Guy Lake, two sisters, Lois Ann Esterbrook, and Sally Fitzpatrick, 6 grandchildren: Miles Bray, Evan Bray, Brayden Tharp (Vanessa), Bryson Tharp (Amanda), Keagan Tharp, and Carlee Tharp, and 4 great-grandchildren: Camden Tharp, Carrigan Tharp, Anna Claire Tharp, and Graham Tharp.
Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10 AM at the Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, AR. Recognized as Honorary Pallbearers are: Willene Bray, Betty Jo Evans, Roy and Joyce Mynatt, DR and Beth Edwards, Paul and Jo Anna Bray, and Jackie Buell The family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Bray’s honor to Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, AR.
