Billy Keith Buchanan, 56, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on June 22, 2019, of a heart attack.
Billy was born in Cleveland, Ohio February 26, 1963, to Billy Joe Buchanan (deceased) and Pansy Buchanan Lawrence (deceased). After graduating high school, Billy enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1982. This was the start of a 20 year career in the Airborne Infantry.
Billy served in posts throughout the United States, Korea, Somalia, and Germany. He served as an Airborne instructor (Black Hat) at Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Benning, Georgia. His last duty station was at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas, serving as an ROTC instructor. He is also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Billy was married to Angela Marsh Buchanan on July 19, 2018, they shared an “amazing” 11 months together. A series of unfortunate and serendipitous events brought them together to make the last year of his life one of the happiest.
Survived by Lindy Buchanan (former spouse), and their family, Anne May (daughter), Jason May (son-in-law), Brynley May (granddaughter), Brian Keith Buchanan (Son), Alyssa Anne Buchanan (daughter-in-law), Kohen Keith Buchanan (grandson), Kelli Jade Buchanan (granddaughter), Stephanie Briana Buchanan (daughter), Sami Ramey (daughter), and Nick Ramey (son-in-law).
Other family members include Clyde Lawrence (step-father, deceased), Regina (Bobby) Miller, (sister), Yolanda Buchanan (sister, deceased), Debra Moses (sister), Stanley Buchanan (brother), James Buchanan (brother), Debbie Buchanan (sister-in-law), Adam Lawrence (brother), many nieces and nephews, and Spencer James Holland (grandson).

Services will be Saturday June 29, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the VFW Post 2330 in Searcy, AR.
