Billy Howard Branscum began the new year welcomed at the pearly gates. His life and legacy are celebrated by his devoted wife of 60 years, Virginia, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, for whom he always said he wouldn’t even take a million dollars. Billy was the salt of the earth, giving freely of his talents as a gifted mechanic, master gardener and avid fisherman to all who might want or need. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong friend. He delighted in the rich and simple pleasures of life, like a hot cup of coffee before sunrise, a long day fishing on a quiet lake, and the unmistakable taste of his red summer tomatoes. Billy always said he enjoyed most the things that God made, and we rejoice that today he is surrounded by the full color beauty of what God has made and prepared just for him (John 14:3). Billy waits to welcome into this paradise his family: Virginia (wife); Linda, Charles, William, Michelle, and Barbara (children); their spouses, his ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and Clarence, Richard, Dorothy, and Finis (siblings). Join us in celebrating Billy’s life on earth and the new adventure before him. The viewing will take place on Friday January 4, 2019 from 5-7 p.m and the Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. both at North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please honor our Papa with a gift to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
