Colena Fox Obituary

Colena Louise Fox (Stanley), 61, of Batesville, died on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023. Colena was born on January 29th, 1962, in Crossett, AR, to Eddie Stanley and Mary (Bardin) Brantley. She spent the formative years of her life in Crossett, which is where she met the love of her life, Stanley Fox. For the next 48 years, the relationship grew and grew, leaving a love-filled legacy that included 43 years of marriage, two children, and multiple grandchildren. Colena was of the Christian faith and worshiped the Lord previously at Southside Assembly of God, and more recently at Compass South in Southside. She earned her associate’s degree in accounting at UACCB (formerly Gateway Vocational-Technical College), and she would use her degree to help provide for her family while working for more than 30 years at Townsend/PECO as an accountant. Colena enjoyed being outdoors, especially tending to her flowers. But with all her vocations and hobbies, the thing that meant the most to Colena was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a caring and nurturing mother who was always there for her children. She would take on her children’s friends as her own children and would become happily involved in whatever they had going on at any particular time. She also loved being a grandmother and treasured her grandchildren with her whole heart. Colena demonstrated a selfless and unconditional love that was recognized by all that knew her. She always put others first and saw the good in everyone. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by everyone who was blessed to know her.

Colena is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, JB Stanley and Vera Stanley; her maternal grandparents, Tommy W. Bardin and Willie Nixon Bardin; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Irby Fox and Marguerite Fox; her step-father, Leon Brantley; her aunt, Shirley Orr; and her brother-in-law, Steven Fox.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stanley Fox; her son, Shane Abel Fox (Ashley); her daughter, Mary Marguerite Cunningham (Mark); her father, Eddie Stanley (Molly); her mother, Mary Brantley; her brothers, Eddie Stanley (Derenda), Jerry Clark (Shelley), Kenny Clark, and James Stanley (Marilyn); her sister, Jeannie Terrell (Dennis); her two brothers-in-law, KK Fox, and William Irby Fox (Robin); her sister-in-law, Vicki Fox; her beloved grandchildren, Lydia Fox, Emery Fox, Lola “Belle” Fox, and Emma Claire Cunningham; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
