Billie Melton Obituary

Billie Sue Melton, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and a close friend, on April 2, 2024, in Batesville, AR. She was born on February 25, 1942, in Lafferty, AR, to the late William McCance and Mae (Glenn) McCance. Billie retired from LaCroix Optical. She had many talents, including sewing, singing, and oil painting. The thing she enjoyed most was singing with her sisters, Kat, Faye, and Bobbie. They made up the McCance Sisters, and they had sang together since they were kids. Billie was a Christian and a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Cushman. She loved people deeply, always having a way of making them feel good about themselves. Billie touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all those that loved her.

Billie is survived by her son, Russell Melton (Michele); daughter, Paula Clark (Sky); brother, Coby Melton; sister, Kathryn Clouse; grandchildren, Nicholas Melton, Lonnie Clark (Stacey), and Candace Morrow (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Kieler Clark, Lily Clark, Lucy Clark, Morgan Wimberley (Andrew), Ruby Morrow, Eli Morrow, and Brock Morrow; great-great grandchild, Asher Wimberley; and several extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William McCance and Mae (Glenn) McCance; husband, Chester Melton; several brothers and sisters; and quickly reunited in Heaven with her son, Emmanuel “Wayne” Melton.

Services will be held for both Billie and her son, Wayne, at Cornerstone Community Church on Friday, April 5, 2024, with visitation starting at 12 PM.
