Winfred Hunter Obituary

Mrs. Winfred Benlyn Mayhue Hunter left this world to join her husband, William Hunter, to be with the Lord on February 7, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Thelma Mayhue, her sisters, Bonnie Jernigan and Jackie Schratz, as well as her precious great-granddaughters, Lainie and Gracie Nail.

She is survived by her children, Al and Robin Hunter of Georgia and Sarah and John Nail of Greenwood, her grandchildren, Bill and Leigh Hunter of Georgia, Scott and Alison Houston of Greenwood, Chris and Caroline Nail of Benton, Brad and Kerri Hunter of Georgia, Brent Hunter of Georgia, and her great grandchildren, Brooks Nail, Hunter Houston, Dallas Hunter, Bo Nail and Will Houston. She is survived by brothers and sisters, Betty and Perry Winn of Bald Knob, Beatrice Throckmorton of Velvet Ridge, Jimmy and Joann Mayhue of California, Kenneth and Barbara Mayhue of California, and Ken and Geraldine Simmons of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews.

She is a long-time member of the 20th Street Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching the children and nursery classes for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the 20th Street Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial is at the Alderbrook Cemetery. Charles Bullington officiated the services. Shirley Greenfield provided the music. Pallbearers were Bill Hunter, Chris Nail, Brad Hunter, Brent Hunter, Scott Houston, and Tim Sisk. Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons.

Visitation is Monday, February 9, 2015 from 1:00 to service time.
