Sondra Renee Rich, 58, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 30th, 2014. Born August 18th, 1955 in San Antonio, TX, she was the daughter of Mary Jean Davis and the late Doyle "Pat" Davis of Batesville, AR and the late John Newton Rich of Birmingham, AL.
Sondra was a 1973 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High in Woodbridge, VA. She attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia and also attended the University of Alabama. Sondra worked in the legal field for many years as a legal secretary and as a paralegal in Washington D.C. for Zuckerman Spaeder Law Firm. She also worked in radio, television, and for a record label in the promotional arena. She was a licensed Virginia real estate agent and sold real estate in the Northern Virginia area. Sondra's parents, Pat & Jean Davis, founded one of the largest real estate companies in the Washington, DC area. Sondra was proud to carry on the tradition that her parents established, when in 2002 she became Owner/Broker of Rich Realty and founder of Rich School of Real Estate. She was the recipient of several awards including the "2008 Realtor of the Year Award" in Batesville. She loved to read and it was her dream in life to have a bestseller on the New York Times list. She often dreamed of winning the lottery and enjoyed going to Tunica as often as she could.
Sondra embraced all who walked into her office and knew how to make everyone feel like they were the most special person. There are many people who come and go in our lives. A few touch us in ways that change us forever, making us better for knowing them. Sondra was one of those few. She loved her family, friends, and her agents so much, but she loved her son, Brock more than life itself.
Survivors include her son, the light of her life, Brock Davis Newman of the home; her mother, Mary Jean Davis of Batesville, AR; her sisters, Cynthia "Cindy" Davenport & partner, Caryn Creech of Batesville, AR, and Deborah Dent of Woodbridge, VA; a brother, Doyle C. (Chuck) Davis, Jr. & wife, Brenda Sue of Woodbridge, VA. Her nieces, Jeanne and husband, Joey Markowski of Batesville; Missy and husband, Brandon Hamlet of Bella Vista; Krystal and husband, Jose' Delfi of Woodbridge, VA; Her nephews, Patrick Davenport and wife, Cagney of Batesville; Chucky Davis of Woodbridge, VA. Several great nieces and nephews: Sophia Markowski of Batesville, AR; Grayson & Gabriel Mangus of Batesville, AR; Avery Hamlet of Bella Vista, AR; Naya, Kaden, & Jace Delfi of Woodbridge, VA. Special friends; Kevin Givens of Woodbridge, VA, Kami McClurg , Angel Nguyen and Ona Wyatt of Batesville, AR.
Sondra was preceded in death by her father, Doyle C. (Pat) Davis of Batesville, AR, and her maternal grandparents, Delton & Claudia B. Tipton of Little Rock, AR.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 31st, 2014 at Willis Funeral Services from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Willis Funeral Services Friday morning at 10 a.m. with Mark Skelton officiating. Burial will be at Alderbrook Cemetery in Desha, AR.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Davis, Joey Markowski, Patrick Davenport, Keith Harmon, Glenn Waggoner, Dale Ladd, Patrick Lemley, Peter Gavin, and Tim Sisk.
Honorary pallbearers are Grayson & Gabriel Mangus, Chucky Davis, Lackey Moody, Jr., Batesville Board of REALTORS, Qaisar Khan, Kevin Givens, and Charles Hon.
At Sondra's request, after the burial on Friday, there will be a Celebration of Her Life to be held at Rich Realty, 3001 Harrison St., Batesville, Arkansas.
