Opal Louise Holleman, 91, of Bethesda passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Bethesda. She was born December 10, 1922 in Unbana, Ohio to Lester Harrington and Audra Florence Munyan. She was a chef and was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church. Opal was a member of the Independence County E H Club, Bridge Club, Batesville Bowling League, and Successful Business Women.
Survivors include four daughters, Corliss Gail May of Bethesda, Victoria Lee Kehrer of Mt. Vernon, IL, Crystal Mae Nast of Bethesda and Myra Louise Willbanks of Thayer, MO, eleven grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ira Jake Wheeler; her second husband, Sherman Holleman; one sister, Evelyn Lehey; one brother, Lester Harrington; two sons, Eugene Shone and Thomas Wheeler; one daughter, Betty Jean Nast and two grandchildren, Tina Marie Hice and Ira Lee Hice.
Services will be 12:00 P.M., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church in Bethesda with Chris Sims and Alan Brown officiating. There will be a private burial at the Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, MO at a later date. Pallbearers are Russell Hughes, Perry McGowne, Matthew McGowne, Brian Willbanks, Britt Turner, and Brian Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Sims, Cody Clark, Mike May, Tim May, Leon Kehrer,and Bobby Nast.
Visitation is Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
