James "Jim" Franklin Matlock, 82, of Bradford passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Bradford. He was born April 30, 1931 in Ada, OK to Ruben H. Matlock and Dolly Gillihan Matlock. He served in the Army and was a POW during the Korean war for thirty three months. After leaving the Army, Jim worked as a machinist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his family time and was of the Full Gospel faith.
Survivors include his wife whom he married in 1956, Christine Matlock of the home; three sons, Tony Matlock of Marshall, Brad Matlock of Floral and Allen Matlock of Bradford; one daughter, Lisa Mann of Floral; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Matlock; two sisters, Treva Middleton and Jo Hollingsworth and one infant brother.
Services are 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Palestine Cemetery at Hutchinson Mountain. Pallbearers are Matthew Matlock, John Matlock, Justin Mann, Steven Mann, Clay Sims, Michael Matlock, Wade Thomas, Kevin Pruitt, DJ Middleton and Tony Matlock.
Visitation was held Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
