Gary D Hobbs

Gary D Hobbs, 69, of Batesville, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 4th, 2016 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born October 12, 1947 in Batesville to the late Dorse W. Hobbs and Norma Stice Hobbs. He attended Batesville schools and graduated in 1965. Gary was an avid sports fan of NASCAR and Razorback football. He loved cars, watching TV, and his grandchildren. A highlight of his day was attending an event his grandchildren were participating in.
Gary retired from Eastman Chemical after 20 years as a lab analyst. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Batesville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of the home; sons: Gary D Hobbs Jr. and wife Cristy of Locust Grove, Arkansas, Aaron B Hobbs and wife April of Conway, AR; stepson Rob Leonard and wife Kelley of Batesville; and stepdaughter Kelly J. Leonard of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Kaitlin and Cara Hobbs of Conway, and Ayleaha and Hayden Leonard of Batesville; sister Doris J. Fitzgerald, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Hope Lutheran Church 2415 E. Main Street, Batesville on Monday November 7th from 12-2 PM followed by the funeral service beginning at 2 PM. The Reverend Joel Krogen will be officiating the service. Gary will be cremated following the service.
Pallbearers will be: David Hidy, Steve Kruse, Garry Greenfield, Ron DeFrees, Rick DeFrees, and Larry Price.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Charles Fuqua, Darren Plaster, Paul Strecker, Dr. Lackey Moody, Dr. Steve Alexander, and Donald Boles.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hope Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
