David Aldon Mahan, 70, of Batesville passed away, Monday, July 14, 2014 in Batesville. He was born March 11, 1944 in Cave City to Olzie Mahan and Clara Pinkston Mahan. He worked on the line for Townsends and was of the Baptist faith. David enjoyed singing, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Mahan of the home; three sons, David Lee Mahan of Cave City, Davy Weaver of Cave City, Damon Jones of Batesville; four daughters, Joann Sanders of Ash Flat, Roxanna Keller of Cave City, Tina Gann of Cave City, Christi Coleman of Poughkeepsie; one brother, Noil Mahan of Cave City; two sisters, Nora Jean Barnett of Thayer, MO, Louise Curtis of Cave City; twenty grandchildren, Brittany Stephens, Courtney Coleman, Lacey Coleman, Chris Jones, Caleb Jones, Amber Johnson, Dustin Mahan, Kyle Mahan, Kristen Townsend, Loretta Miller, Christopher Vaughn, Derrick Gann, Brittney Gann, Tanner Weaver, Noah Weaver, Bailee Weaver, Landon Weaver, Weston Weaver, Maranda Weaver, Makaila Weaver and two great grandchildren, Lawson Gann and Lynlee Gann.
He is preceeded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dub Mahan, Robert Mahan, Jewell Mahan; two sisters, Goldie Mahan, Diane Mahan and one granddaughter, Danyell Coleman.
Services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Bobby Walker officiating. Pallbearers are Steve Wilson, Howard Abernathy, B.J. Going, Mike Varnell, Jeremy Justis, and Larry Barnett. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Ring, Max Ray Burge, and John Brown. Interment will be at the Parsley Cemetery in Calemine.
Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
