Alvie Wilson Obituary

Alvie Edwin "Ed" Wilson, 86 of Pleasant Plains left this world on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 20, 1930, the youngest son in a family of nine children, to Samuel R. and Nancy "Rose" Wilson. Growing up during the depression he learned the importance of family and the value of hard work. He graduated from Floral High School in 1948 and went to work in the timber industry with two
of his brothers. He joined the Air Force in 1952. He completed basic training
at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He married the love of his life Luvita "Vee" Pitman on May 17, 1952. They had three daughters, Deborah Joann Frazier, Donna Kay Smith and Ella Deshawn Wyatt.
Ed served in Vietnam and was stationed at Laredo Air Force Base when he
retired in August 1972. He and Vee moved to Pleasant Plains and soon after he went to work at National Welding Supply where he remained until 1994 when he retired to care for Vee. He was a role model to his family and encouraged them to achieve their goals. His nurturing spirit was evident when he talked of his wife, his sisters, his daughters, his grands and great grands.
He is survived by his daughters Deborah and her husband, Lanny of
Floral; Deshawn and her husband Lance of Rosie; grandchildren Natalie
Frazier, Jarrod Frazier (Courtney), Lindsey Frazier, Misty Qualls, Nickie Vinson, Haley Vinson, Landon Wyatt and Jace Wyatt; great-grandchildren Olivia Floyd, Blakely Floyd, Lainey Frazier, Lilah Frazier, Insley Vinson,
